SessionLab allows you to easily find methods in the public library and reuse materials from any of your session plans when you are designing a workshop agenda. When you create blocks within a session plan, those blocks become reusable elements that you can find and pull into any new session plan. When you reuse a block or add one to your session from the library, it brings all its prior descriptions, comments, and attachments.

You can search within the libraries directly from the Session Planner. Select the Library icon from the right-hand sidebar, and choose ‘In library’ from this dropdown menu.

You can also add a method to your session from the library by clicking on the relevant option in the menu under the 'add' button.

You can also search amongst the methods from all the libraries you have access to, including your personal library (‘Methods I created’), a shared library (if you have access to one), and all the publicly available methods, too.

Otherwise, you can choose to search only in your favorite methods (‘My favorites’) or search in your session plans by choosing ‘In sessions’.

If you click on any block which is shown as a search result, you can open it and read the full description, reviews and ratings that it received in the library.

When you decide that you want to add any of the blocks from the search results to your session plan, just drag and drop it into the appropriate place in your session plan. If you search among your sessions, then you are able to find and reuse whole groups of blocks as well.

Adding methods to your session directly from the library

You can easily add a library method to your session by clicking on the ‘Use’ button on the library card when you’re in your public, personal or shared library.

The ‘Use’ button is also available when you click on the method to view the detailed library card as well:

When you click on ‘Use’, you’ll then need to select the session you want to add this method to, and then it will appear as a block in your session in the ‘Parking Lot’ area. You can then drag and drop the method from the Parking Lot area into your session if you wish.

If you added a library method to your session, then first you need to reload your session / refresh the page to see the freshly added block in the Parking Lot section. If you’re navigating back to your sessions from the library, then the easiest way to view the session you added the method to is to go to your ‘Home’ view on your dashboard. Here you’ll see the session where you added this block as the most recently modified session.

Find blocks from other sessions within the Session Planner

SessionLab allows you to easily find and reuse materials from any of your session plans when you are designing a workshop agenda. When you create blocks within a session plan, those blocks become reusable elements that you can find and pull into any new session plan.

You just need to open the Library panel on the right-hand sidebar, and you will be able to search within all the sessions you have access to (including your own sessions, sessions shared with you, and sessions in any workspace you're a member of) by selecting the “In sessions” option from the dropdown menu.
